Mr. Robert Hiram McCants, 82, of Murray, KY, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY.
Bob was born on September 8, 1944 in Memphis, TN to the late Robert and Frances (Harris) McCants. He proudly served his country as a United States Marine for nine years, including service as a Vietnam veteran. Bob retired from Ingram Barge after 20 years of service.
He was a loving husband who cherished his family and the friendships he built along the way. A talented chef, he found joy in cooking for others and bringing people together around the table. Bob had a generous heart, a wonderful sense of humor, and a way of making people smile wherever he went. Whether he was preparing a favorite meal, sharing a good laugh, or dancing the night away, he knew how to enjoy life and make memories with those he loved.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carol Wells and his stepmother, Louise McCants.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Mrs. Pat McCants; his son, Robert McCants; his daughter, Tiffany Phipps; his aunt, June Hart; as well as two grandchildren, Chase Pickens and Julian Phipps. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. McCants will be laid to rest at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville.
