Mr. Joey Scott Ramsey, age 58, of Dexter, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Murray Calloway County Hospital after an abrupt battle with cancer.
Mr. Ramsey was born in Murray, Kentucky, on June 13, 1968, to James Mark Ramsey and Emma Jean (Holland) Ramsey. Joey was a 1986 graduate of Calloway County High School. He was the owner and operator of Ramsey Construction. A more fitting title would be jack of all trades. His ability with horses was nothing short of a gift. There wasn’t a tree he couldn’t cut. He loved his family with an innate passion.
Mr. Ramsey was preceded in death by his father, Mark; his brother, Jeff Ramsey; his grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.
Mr. Ramsey is survived by his daughter, Tristan Ramsey, of Murray, Kentucky, and his mother, Emma Ramsey, of Dexter, Kentucky.
A public Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on October 18, 2026, at the Brooks Chapel Church Annex.
A private family burial will follow at Brooks Chapel Cemetery.
